Based in Philadelphia, Santanu holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Economics from the University of Calcutta, India, and a Master of Science (MS) in Management Science from Stony Brook University, in the US. He is responsible for developing innovative strategies to expand the life science business at Virtusa.
Santanu started his journey with Virtusa in 2018 and managed client, partner, and analyst relationships to help the company grow. Santanu supports the US market while assisting the EU and APAC teams with building their GTM strategies. He leverages his global experience to enable collaboration between diverse teams across Virtusa, to power the company’s growth.
Santanu is an achiever par excellence. He skillfully steers clients’ life sciences transformation journey with his industry expertise and vast technological knowledge. He has been invited as a speaker at multiple international events – Medtech (2018 and 2019) and AstraZeneca conference in Cambridge, UK (2018). He has also presented to AWS Sales Reps in Madrid (2019), Microsoft sales and leadership (2018, 2019), and to Google Sales Reps (2020). Under his leadership, Virtusa won two significant clients – an American multinational CPG organization and a Swiss multinational healthcare company, adding value to business growth and contribute to the company revenue.
Santanu has passionately contributed to the Virtusa vLife® platform - the healthcare and life sciences applications marketplace. He has helped identify it as a rich data experience to help organizations move rapidly to exploration and analysis. Being the owner and evangelist of vLife®, he works closely with the larger team on the future roadmap. In his entire journey at Virtusa, he has given over 100 client presentations on vLife®. He designed vLife® as a marketplace at the forefront of innovation and has brought it to the attention of industry analysts at Gartner, Forrester, and the Everest group.
Santanu loves braving the storm, be it professional (changing course from financial services to becoming a tech expert in healthcare and life sciences) or personal (surviving the ghastly attack on Tower One, 9/11). He started his financial journey with Moody’s Investors Service as Bond Analyst and then continued with Lehman Brothers and Goldman Sachs. Changing course to the life sciences industry, he worked with Merck KGaA, HighPoint Solutions LLC, later acquired by IQVIA, before joining Virtusa.
With his vast experience and knowledge, Santanu has proved invaluable to the company and his colleagues. He is always willing to lend a hand in guiding his team towards success. With him as a leader, Virtusa achieved ground-breaking success in the life sciences segment.
