WESTBOROUGH, Mass., – (March 22, 2013) – Virtusa Corporation (NASDAQ: VRTU), a global business consulting and IT outsourcing company that combines innovation, technology leadership and industry solutions to transform the customer experience, today announced that the CRF Institute has named it one of Britain’s Top Employers for the third consecutive year.
Now in its 13th year, Britain’s Top Employers uses international standards and independent research done by the CRF Institute to identify those companies excelling in HR management. Companies were assessed based on key HR-related areas including Primary Benefits, Secondary Benefits and Working Conditions, Training and Development, Career Development, and Culture Management.
“It is an honor to be named as one of Britain’s Top Employers,” said Sundararajan Narayanan, vice president and global head of HR at Virtusa. “Today’s workforce is multidimensional, from baby boomers to Gen X and Y, and we’re committed to creating an environment that provides equal opportunities for all. From social business platforms to flexible working hours, we strive to be a place where team members can put down roots and grow.”
“At Virtusa, our team members and their commitment have been the backbone of our success as a company, making it important to continuously attract and retain top talent,” said Sameet Gupte, senior vice president and managing director for Europe at Virtusa. “To be a top employer, you must have an environment that appeals to a diverse workforce, supports world class HR policies and practices, is inspiring and fosters innovation. I feel proud to be a part of the incredibly talented Virtusa team here in the UK.”
Virtusa is an HR innovator across its global operations. It regularly solicits feedback from team members through surveys, uses a Communications Framework platform to improve communication between team members and its leadership team and has built custom internal social networks where Virtusans can interact and collaborate. This focus has led to recognition worldwide including other "Best Employer" awards in the U.S., India and Sri Lanka in the past year alone.
“We’ve consistently seen our certified Top Employers showing that they value their talent by making sure that they have outstanding employee offerings in place,” said Eleanor Nickerson, manager of UK Operations for the CRF Institute. “We’ve also seen a shift towards more coaching, mentoring and training, as employers seek to ensure that they develop employees and that attractive career opportunities are in place for them.”
CRF was founded in 1991 as a joint initiative of academics, business journalists, trade associations, researchers and international publishers, with a mission of offering independent HR assessment and recognition. The CRF developed the Top Employers methodology to acknowledge companies that excel in HR, leadership and strategy.
The CRF recognized the 2013 honorees at an awards dinner on March 21 at The Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London. The CRF’s complete list of Britain’s Top Employers for 2013 is available here: http://www.britainstopemployers.co.uk/Home.aspx.
