Sr. QA Engineer Offshore (Data, Power BI)
Role Overview
The Offshore Senior QA Engineer will lead quality assurance efforts for data platforms and Power BI solutions, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and compliance across MDM, ETL, and reporting layers. This role involves defining test strategies, mentoring junior QA engineers, and collaborating with onshore teams to deliver high-quality solutions in a global delivery model.
Key Responsibilities
Define and implement comprehensive QA strategies for data pipelines, MDM outputs, and Power BI dashboards.
Lead functional, regression, and performance testing for large-scale data and BI solutions.
Validate complex data transformations, DAX calculations, KPIs, and visualization logic.
Develop automated testing frameworks for data quality and BI validation where applicable.
Review and approve test plans, cases, and scripts prepared by junior QA engineers.
Collaborate with architects, developers, and business analysts to ensure alignment with requirements.
Document defects, provide root cause analysis, and drive resolution with development teams.
Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards during QA processes.
Mentor and guide offshore QA team members, ensuring best practices and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience
8 to12 years of experience in QA for data platforms and BI solutions, with leadership exposure.
Strong expertise in SQL for data validation and ETL testing.
Hands-on experience with Power BI testing, including advanced DAX and performance optimization.
Familiarity with Informatica MDM data flows and AWS-based data environments.
Experience in test automation tools for data and BI validation (e.g., Selenium, PyTest, or custom frameworks).
Excellent communication skills for offshore/onshore coordination and stakeholder reporting.
Knowledge of P&C Insurance domain is highly desirable.
