By now, most health insurance payers are well into working on complying with the Final Rule obligation to provide API access to Provider Directories and patient data they maintain and manage. Currently, the identification of source systems should be completed, vendors and partners selected and in place, and the completion of data preparation, ingestion, and mapping to the FHIR JSON standard should be well underway. It’s a challenging part of the journey, and some are falling behind on this priority step, working rapidly to catch up.
Completing this step is critical, but with limited time before go-live, it’s important not to lose sight of the next steps in the process. The Onyx SAFHIR platform refers to the three major areas of preparation as Convert, Share, and Control. The First SAFHIR Module, Convert, is all about data preparation and ingestion; Modules 2 and 3, Share and Control, enable the next steps towards compliance readiness and assume higher priority attention as measures such as the consent process come into focus.
In this webinar, we talk about the top priorities for this attentional shift towards finalizing the APIs and making them accessible to mobile apps of the consumer’s choosing.
