Virtusa Achieves AWS Healthcare Competency Status

SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass. — October 19, 2021 Virtusa Corporation, a global provider of digital strategy, digital engineering, and information technology (IT) services and solutions announced today that it has achieved Amazon Web Services (AWS) Healthcare Consulting Competency status.

The AWS Healthcare Consulting Competency status recognizes Virtusa’s expertise and work with AWS to provide cloud offerings that help healthcare organizations accelerate digital transformation. Through these offerings, healthcare companies can maximize innovation, minimize costs, and provide value-based care.

“Achieving this healthcare competency status allows Virtusa to help its clients realize their business goals by leveraging the agility of AWS,” said Anthony Lange, Senior Vice President and Head of Healthcare & Life Sciences at Virtusa. “As an AWS Premier Consulting Partner, we are one of the strongest database (DB) migration and transformation partners in the industry.”

Virtusa’s services portfolio features award-winning, cloud-based solutions, a team of certified worldwide experts, and its cloud transformation services that extend from strategy to execution and include infrastructure, application, and data domains. This portfolio is backed by a collaboration with AWS as Virtusa is currently an AWS Premier Consulting Partner with numerous AWS Competencies, which has helped clients accelerate cloud adoption.

One of the nation’s largest not-for-profit health insurers decided to opt for an automated Amazon Redshift data warehouse to enhance the productivity of its Enrollment and Billing (E&B) division. Virtusa leveraged the client’s Operational Data Store (ODS) platform, built on Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), and Amazon Aurora to ingest data into an Amazon Redshift data warehouse using PySpark ETL. Today, the new solution has accelerated the client’s E&B data warehouse delivery to help track enrollments and premium collections and is now able to process full loads for 12 dimensions and seven facts with the peak processing of 16 million records.

AWS established the AWS Competency Program to help customers identify AWS Partner Network (APN) partners with deep industry experience and expertise in technology and consulting. This includes those able to support the seamless integration and deployment of these solutions. In addition to its AWS Healthcare Consulting Competency, Virtusa has also achieved the following: Migration Consulting Competency, DevOps Consulting Competency, Data & Analytics Consulting Competency, Life Sciences Consulting Competency, Financial Services Consulting Competency, Digital Workplace Consulting Competency, and SaaS Consulting Competency, as well as acceptance into the Database Freedom, Well Architected, and AWS ISV Workload Migration (for Pega) programs.
