Virtusa Secures SIIA CODiE Awards for Best Artificial Intelligence Solution in Healthcare
SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass. – (March 18, 2021) – Virtusa Corporation, a global provider of digital strategy, digital engineering, and IT services and solutions that help clients change and disrupt markets through innovation engineering, announced today that it has received a CAQH® Committee on Operating Rules for Information Exchange (CORE®) Prior Authorization Rules Endorser Seal. This seal demonstrates the company’s commitment to streamlining electronic healthcare administrative data exchange. Virtusa Corporation achieved CORE Endorser status because it supports CAQH CORE’s mission, collaborative industry approach and administrative simplification objectives.
“Existing Prior Authorization processes and systems are creating significant challenges. Patients are discouraged by barriers to appropriate access, clinicians are frustrated by the time, money, and resources required from the frequent rejections, and payers are weary of the effort required to design and administer complex systems to balance value and appropriate use of these treatments.” said Anthony Lange, senior vice president, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Virtusa.“ These issues highlight an opportunity to reimagine prior authorization as a transparent and collaborative system enabled by Virtusa’s Prior Authorization solution.”
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services selected CAQH CORE to develop national operating rules for HIPAA transactions to ensure that large amounts of data can be shared electronically in an efficient way regardless of what technology is being used. CAQH CORE is a collaboration of more than 130 public and private entities across the healthcare industry that work together to develop these rules. CORE-Certified entities cover more than 75 percent of the commercially insured population, including lives covered under Medicare and Medicaid plans.
"By becoming a CORE Endorser, Virtusa is demonstrating its support for an initiative that is reducing unnecessary healthcare administrative burden and helping U.S. healthcare become more efficient and responsive to patient concerns,” said Robin J. Thomashauer, CAQH executive director.
Virtusa works with the top 150 Healthcare and Life Sciences (HLS) organizations. We’re committed to improve the prior authorization process and have a strong solution aligned with CAQH rules and latest CMS guidelines.
The CORE Certification program—widely viewed as the industry “gold standard”—enables organizations to demonstrate that they and their business partners have adopted and are adhering to the operating rules and their underlying standards, plus going above and beyond what is required. Endorser organizations who receive the seal support the goals of the program and bring value to their members, customers, clients and patients through their knowledge of and commitment to efficient administrative data exchange.
