Colombo, 27th January 2016 – Virtusa Corporation (NASDAQ GS: VRTU), a global business consulting and IT outsourcing company that combines innovation, technology leadership and industry solutions to transform the customer experience, was recognized as the Best Exporter of the Computer and Related Services Sector for 2011 and 2013 at the recently held Presidential Export Awards. The awards were presented by President Maithripala Sirisena at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre, Colombo.

Recently, Virtusa was also recognized by the National Chamber of Exporters Awards (NCE Awards) with three gold awards for its efforts in encouraging, hiring and retaining local talent and resources to add value to its services. And at the SLIM Brand Excellence Awards held in October 2015, Virtusa was crowned Export ‘Brand of the Year’ for the second consecutive year. The company has consistently focused on developing quality pool of talent to strengthen its contribution to the country’s export earnings.

The Presidential Export Awards were conceived by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board in 1981 as a way to acknowledge the efforts of the export community towards the development of the nation. The award is the highest form of recognition given to an exporter and is based on the exporters’ overall export earnings, product development, market development and social development made towards the country.
