LONDON, UK -February 01, 2012 - Virtusa Corporation (NASDAQ: VRTU), a global IT services company that offers a broad spectrum of business consulting and outsourcing services, today announced the appointment of Sameet Gupte as the company’s senior vice president (SVP) & managing director (MD) for Europe based out of London.
Raj Rajgopal, Virtusa’s executive vice president, business development and client services, said, “We are delighted to have Sameet lead our sales, delivery and operations for all industry segments within Virtusa across the UK and Continental Europe. Sameet’s experience in building successful businesses combined with our depth of expertise in Telecom, Media and BFSI will enable us to focus our efforts on expanding our customer base across UK and Continental Europe. In addition, Sameet will also focus on growing our Nearshore center in Hungary to service our global clients.”

Previously, Sameet served in many business development and management roles when employed by Headstrong, a Genpact (NYSE:G) company, where he was responsible for the Capital Market’s business in Europe. Prior to that, he worked with Headstrong in California managing the West Operations and also served as the joint Managing Director for Headstrong GmbH in Germany. Prior to Headstrong Sameet has also worked with NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) and HCL in Asia.
Sameet holds a degree in Computer Engineering from Pune University and has completed his Finance & Accounting Executive Education Program from Stanford School of Business.
