Ranked in “Super 10” of top companies
Colombo – February 25, 2008 - Virtusa won a Gold Award at the Sri Lanka National HRM Awards 2007 conducted by Hewitt Associates and judged by an international panel of eminent judges.
The HRM Awards 2007 – Super 10 is organized by the Association of Human Resource Professionals (HRP) of Sri Lanka. It highlights the value and potential of human resources and the importance of equipping them with skills and competencies through which they may be strategically managed to ensure efficiency and productivity.
The event was held on an impressive scale on February 22nd at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo. Overall, the panel selected 10 Gold winners and 9 Silver winners from a large number of Sri Lankan organizations that competed for the awards. The winners were kept a secret until the event commenced. The 2007 HRM Gold Award achievers are Hatton National Bank, HSBC, Sampath Bank, MAS Intimates, Virtusa Pvt. Ltd, Commercial Bank, DFCC, Ceylon Tobacco Company, Sri Lankan Airlines and Keells Hotels and Management Services Ltd.
Says Ishan Dantanarayana, Director-HR, Asia Head of HR, CCT BU, “Winning a Gold Award was indeed recognition of the hard work of everyone at Virtusa, including the leadership at all levels and also the HR team. Hence, this is an opportunity to celebrate our HR and People practices.” The very stringent selection criteria included audits conducted by Hewitt Associate teams that visited from India prior to the final selection.
Virtusa’s HR practices are now rated among the best in the country. This was the first occasion where such a competition was conducted by an internationally-recognized organization in Sri Lanka.
