New executive to focus on human resource strategy for the global software services provider across US, UK, India and Sri Lanka
Westborough, MA - April 17, 2006 - Virtusa Corporation, a global provider of software development and IT services, today announced the appointment of T N Hari as Vice President & Global Head of Human Resources. Hari will be part of the Leadership Team and based out of Virtusa’s Hyderabad Advanced Technology Center.
“Hari brings tremendous thought leadership and understanding of the current market dynamics, and has been responsible for more than 20,000 people across the globe,” said Kris Canekeratne, Chairman and CEO of Virtusa. “Hari’s experience with shaping HR as a credible business partner in a high-growth scale business will be directly relevant to Virtusa during the next stage of our growth.”
Prior to Virtusa, Hari served for nearly four years at IBM-Daksh, where he ran HR and played a key role in the seamless integration of Daksh with IBM and the subsequent emergence of IBM-Daksh as India’s biggest third-party BPO company. He brought deep strategic insights into the HR function at IBM-Daksh, helped build a transparent culture and launched significant leadership development initiatives.
Prior to IBM-Daksh, Hari spent 14 years at Tata Steel, where he played several roles in project management, corporate planning, design engineering and HR. Hari also was responsible for successfully driving key organization-wide initiatives.
Hari has a bachelor’s degree in Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata. Hari has also co-authored a book titled, “Back to Basics in Management – A Critique of The Fabled Management Mantras.” The book illustrates and emphasizes the importance of ground-up thinking, based on first principles, in creating organizational excellence.
