On his first visit to Sri Lanka as CEO, Nitesh Banga shared Virtusa’s vision to become a $5 billion enterprise by FY 2030, positioning the company as a leading domain-driven engineering partner for the AI-enterprise. In an exclusive with Daily FT, he emphasized that AI and GenAI will be central to Virtusa’s growth, supported by Virtusa Helio, a suite of accelerators that integrate seamlessly into client environments with built-in governance and multi-LLM capabilities.

Banga highlighted two major trends reshaping tech services: the transition from digital to AI-led transformation, and the rising need for enterprise resilience. Clients, he noted, expect more than cost efficiency — they demand speed, domain expertise, responsible AI, and measurable outcomes.

Internally, Virtusa is investing in AI upskilling through its Thrive Academy, fostering innovation with programs like Virtusa Icon, and embedding platform capabilities into its services.

Sri Lanka remains a strategic hub in this journey, providing high-quality talent and a strong delivery base. Banga reaffirmed the company’s commitment to invest in Sri Lanka as it scales globally, with expansion into energy, manufacturing, and semiconductors also on the horizon.
