Mainframe developer
Looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer to design, develop, and maintain applications on IBM Mainframe systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and related mainframe technologies, along with problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities: Develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Perform code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting of mainframe programs.
Optimize batch processes and ensure system performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integration and deployment.
Provide production support and resolve incidents within SLA timelines.
Prepare technical documentation and maintain compliance with standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS.
Knowledge of mainframe utilities (SORT, IDCAMS, etc.).
Familiarity with Change Management tools (Endevor, Control-M).
Good understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in performance tuning and batch optimization.
Exposure to modernization projects (e.g., migrating mainframe apps to distributed systems).
Knowledge of Rexx, Easytrieve is a plus.
