Network Automation Developer/Engineer (TVC)
We're looking for a highly skilled and motivated Network Automation Engineer to join the STAR
(System, Tools, Automation and Reporting) team as a TVC. You'll be pivotal in automating
complex network operations, improving the reliability and efficiency of our infrastructure and
services. This role is ideal for a Python and Ansible focused engineer with strong development
experience and a solid understanding of core networking concepts.
Responsibilities
An acceptable candidate will perform the following core tasks:
● Automation Development and Integration: Write, deploy, and maintain software using Python
within specified automation frameworks (Ansible and others) to automate the complete network
device lifecycle. This includes integration with network infrastructure for standardized
configuration management (deployment, changes, and rollback), continuous auditing, data
collection, and developing tools for automated incident response.
● Integration and Test: Independently integrate with lab and production; test new and existing
automation scripts, playbooks, and modules to ensure reliability, scalability, and adherence to
production standards.
● Technical Documentation: Create and maintain useful, detailed documentation covering
deployed automation solutions, including development methods, integration points, and
operational procedures.
● STAR Project Support: Directly support STAR projects by receiving and addressing work
tickets, Providing expert support for our Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) environment.
Required Qualifications and Skills
● Ansible Development: 3+ years of strong expertise in Ansible development, including
hands-on experience with Ansible Core, Ansible AWX, or RedHat Ansible Automation Platform
(AAP).
● Python Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of experience focused on Python development in a
production environment.
● Networking Expertise: Solid familiarity with fundamental networking concepts, including Layer
2 and Layer 3 protocols, and various routing protocols.
● Mission Critical Network Management Experience: Proven, hands-on experience managing
and configuring complex network routers and switches from major vendors.
