MongoDB & PostgreSQL Database Engineer
Role Summary
We are looking for a skilled Database Engineer with strong expertise in both MongoDB and PostgreSQL to design, implement, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and secure database systems. The role involves supporting development teams, optimizing database performance, and ensuring data integrity across multiple applications.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain MongoDB (NoSQL) and PostgreSQL (relational) databases
Develop efficient data models, schema designs, and indexing strategies
Monitor database performance and tune queries, indexes, and configurations
Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
Support data migration, replication, and integration tasks
Ensure database security, compliance, and best practices
Collaborate with development teams for application integration and query optimization
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues
Maintain documentation and assist in capacity planning
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB (schema design, replication, sharding, aggregation pipelines)
Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (SQL, PL/pgSQL, indexing, partitioning, query optimization)
Experience in database monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
Understanding of database security, backup/recovery, and high availability strategies
Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation
Knowledge of cloud database platforms (AWS RDS, Azure Database, MongoDB Atlas) is a plus
Good to Have
Experience with ETL pipelines, data warehousing, or analytics systems
Exposure to DevOps practices for database deployment and CI/CD
Familiarity with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) for database environments
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
3–7 years of experience as a Database Engineer or Administrator with MongoDB and PostgreSQL
