Our client, a leading Australian bank, used a legacy data warehouse and siloed ETL tools for its home loans business unit. The existing tools delayed the data retrieval process slowing down the reporting of home loan transactions impacting performance and productivity. Owing to rising operational, licensing, and maintenance costs, the enterprise data warehouse (EDW) maintenance and support turned out to be expensive. The data provided by the legacy EDW was not sufficient for downstream dashboards and machine learning (ML) applications.
To address these mounting concerns, the client decided to migrate to AWS S3 data lake and replace its siloed ETL tools with Talend ETL.
