Role Overview:

Accountable for successful program execution and quality project deliverables

The Program Manager is expected to ensure all Virtusa EAG driven projects strictly adhere to the defined Project Management methodologies, frameworks and implementation approach. Apart from ensuring compliance to the standards defined by EAG, the other responsibilities also include ensuring the PMO framework and processes are reviewed and updated in a timely manner bringing in best practices.

The other key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Manage project milestones, timeline, budget, resources, scope and all other program elements
  • Oversee preparation & administration of project budget
  • Make sure all project logistics are ready for the project team on time
  • Ensure project cross dependencies are highlighted and managed
  • Identify and mitigate major risks; identify resolve major issues; anticipate project "deviations"
  • Take corrective action in case of performance deviations and timely issue resolution
  • Liaison with Scrum teams to understand project status and progress, risks and help resolve impediments at a program level
  • Attend project level planning and review meetings to gather project level updates
  • Influence, collaborate and partner closely with Business and IT to ensure successful realization of program goals and objectives
  • Drive Steerco discussion on overall program progress. Develop executive-level status reports, presentations, and briefings that articulate program/project status
  • Track and report Business benefits realized and intervene/escalate as necessary to address roadblocks
  • Serve as a Project management/Scaled Agile subject matter expert for the project teams. Motivate Project team, build mutual trust and high-performance teamwork
  • Develop and deploy Project management processes to drive efficiencies across the program
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder registers, program risks logs, benefits tracker and other program level deliverables
  • Assure focus on communication, training and Change Management (if needed)

Skills Required:

  • 10+ years of work experience of which 3 to 4 years have been specifically on Program Management
  • Experience in managing large scale transformation projects with exposure to Business case development, quantifying and tracking business benefits
  • Good exposure to all phases of SDLC
  • Proficient in Agile and Scaled Agile ways of working
  • Experienced on working with Agile tools like JIRA or Azure Devops
  • Project management certifications like PMP or Prince2 is preferrable
  • Proficient with MS Office - MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint in particular
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
