Handling $6 Trillion Monthly Transactions Through One of the World's Largest Corporate Banking Portals

Our client, one of the largest universal banks, wanted to roll out an integrated global front end for its corporate banking products across trade, cash, and payments. They needed a partner who had the experience and expertise to build a flexible system architecture for increased scalability and able to meet the emerging needs of its corporate customers.

The Challenge

Given the complexity of the program, the client was looking for a modular approach along with a reusable component architecture. In addition, given the limitations of in-house staff, it also needed a partner that had end-to-end expertise in FR definition, architecture, design, data modeling, construction, verification and validation, run-time support, and software quality assurance.

The Solution
  • Designed the front-end solution to support straight through processing (STP) for trade, cash, and payment transactions
  • Consolidated information across multiple branches, which enabled detailed reporting covering customer specific criteria
  • Compatibility with both Windows and Sun Solaris platforms
  • Reusable components for the instructions framework, library, client user interface, inquiry and import framework, workflow and reporting engine, security, and audit management
The Solution
The Benefit

An extremely robust application architecture that supported real-time load balancing with built-in redundancy to ensure high availability. Our client gained deep insight to better manage receivables and collections as well as liquidity with concentration, pooling and sweep functions, and netting solutions. There was significant improvement in mind and market share with over $6 trillion of monthly transactions flowing through the portal.
