Description

1. Candidate with min 5+ year experience in to postgresql database administration (Azure PaaS postgresql preferably).
2. Expertise in writing & scheduling Postgresql queries. Automated reporting.
3.Expertise in implementing 'Access management' on postgresql databases - RBAC permissions for users/applications.
4.Experience in DB security best practices - Making sure DB is not exposed to public. Read/Writes are restricted based on authentication.
5.Responsible for regular backups and recovery of databases.
6.Responsible for regular maintenance on databases (e.g., Vacuum, Re-indexing, Archiving).
7.Expertise in implementing connection pooling (pgbouncer).
8.Creating centralized monitoring dashboards for databases To understand the trends/usage/activity.
9.Estimate PostgreSQL database capacities; develop methods for monitoring database capacity and usage. Lead efforts to develop and improve procedures for automated monitoring and proactive intervention, reducing any need downtime.
10.Continuous backup mechanism
Ensuring that we don't have loss of data at any circumstances
11.Must have experience in PostgreSQL database architecture, logical and physical design, automation, documentation, installs, shell scripting, PL/ SQL programming, catalog navigation, query tuning, system tuning, resource contention analysis, backup and recovery, standby, replication, etc.
12.Good implementation experience with database scalability architecture and options.
13.Support complex web-based applications.
