Bachelors or Masters degree in Information Technology or related field or 6 years of related and progressive experience in lieu
6 to 9 years of experience hands on experience as Mainframe Application development / Automation
Overall exp not exceeding 10 years
Tech Skill Set: Develop and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS, VSAM, REXX and Easytrieve programming languages
Experience with Project Management tools
Experience with databases
Experience with multiple coding languages
Ensuring Quality delivery of your code to dev, UAT and PROD environments with document software programs for efficient and reliable mainframe operations
Excellent Communication Skills and client & team management skills.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Create and modify automated scripts and utilities using REXX automation for enhanced productivity and efficiency.
Utilize Easytrieve to extract and manipulate data from various mainframe data sources.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mainframe applications, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
Perform system analysis and performance tuning to optimize mainframe application performance.
Collaborate with database administrators to ensure smooth integration of mainframe applications with IMS DB
Participate in the development and maintenance of IMS DB and DC applications, including database design, coding, and testing.
Ensure compliance with established coding standards, version control procedures, and software development best practices.
Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers and team members.
Stay updated with the latest mainframe technologies and trends, including advancements in REXX, Easytrieve, and IMS DB/DC
Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and leveraging Easytrieve for data extraction and reporting.
Problem solving, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Experience with technology platforms, application development tools, business processes, software development life cycle used by Enterprise Org
