JOB DESCRIPTION

Skill: Solution Architect

Role: Tier 0

Key responsibility:

As a key member of the development team, you will build, develop and execute data solutions for complex business problems. Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Transform requirements into conceptual architecture design documents 
  • Design technology solutions and goals for a specific solution and/or infrastructural area, in collaboration with Value Stream Architect and Technology Analysts 
  • Work with Value Stream Architects to ensure that a solution architecture aligns and is consistent with both Value Stream design guidelines and enterprise architecture standards 
  • Understand and augments the conceptual architecture and design to address integrations being applied across businesses, applications, technologies, and services 
  • Facilitate solution design discussions 
  • Participate as a member of the release trains to ensure the optimal design solution is understood and adopted 
  • Provide technical guidance to scrum teams
  • Generate conceptual/logical architectures, system documents and risk assessments 
  • Responsible for ensuring the recommended design is followed through to implementation through reviews of high-level and detailed design documentation 
  • Propose new technical standards to other Architects throughout NYL Technology 
  • Participate in the evaluation of new technologies relative to their area 
  • Participate in business, data, application, and infrastructure planning, providing insight into the future of their area of technology
  • Participate in the development of roadmaps related to their area(s) of expertise 
  • Create design artifacts to support the implementation of the future architectural vision
  • Represent release trains at architecture and security review boards and assists in securing required approvals 

Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
