SAP for Insurance: Claims Management
SAP’s FS-CM is an insurance solution dedicated to providing seamless access to all areas of a claim during its entire lifecycle. Some of the major components of FS-CM include:
- Role-based access to all areas of the user interface to protect claim information
- Direct interface to SAP FS-CD for processing of recoveries and claim payments (both one-time and repetitive)
- Direct interface to SAP FI-GL for posting reserves
- Direct interface to SAP FS-PM to retrieve necessary policy coverage information for the adjudication of the claim
- External interfaces to policy management system if FS-PM is not implemented, accounting system if FI-GL is not implemented, and billing system if FS-CD is not implemented
- External interfaces to support regulatory reporting to ISO and other regulatory bodies
- Enterprise Content Management (ECM) interface to process inbound and outbound documents during the lifecycle of a claim
- Automated workflow to support claim creation and assignment to claim handler based on inbound ECM documents
- Direct Microsoft Office™ integration to support pre-populated claims forms
- Ability to manage litigation related to a claim
- Ability to customize rules for claim processing using the Business Rules Framework (BRF)
- Ability to easily enhance the user interface with custom fields and screens using SAP’s Business Data Toolset (BDT)
