Tushara CanekeratneAdvisor and Co-founder
Ms. Canekeratne is a co-founder of Virtusa and played a pivotal role in building its global operation and operating culture. Tushara was instrumental in crafting Virtusa’s initial vision, developing a world-class delivery execution engine, while leading global technical operations and securing and nurturing client engagements. She assumed an advisory role in May 2006 and will continue to advise on key corporate initiatives and client relationships. At Virtusa she served for ten years as Executive Vice President of Global Technical Operations, with world-wide responsibility for delivery of global services and operations.
In 1989, Tushara was a member of the founding team at INSCI Corporation, a document and archival management company. As a key member of the management team, Tushara helped take the company public in 1994. At INSCI, the product developed by Tushara was named 'Product of the Year' in 1997 by the Association of Imaging and Information Management and Imaging Magazine. In the early years she worked with leading Wall Street companies.
In May of 2006, she received the Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2005 Award from the Women’s Chamber of Commerce (WCIC) of Sri Lanka.
Born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Ms. Canekeratne holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics from Loughborough University, United Kingdom. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of Fay School, Southborough, MA.
R. Stephen CheheylAdvisor
R. S. Cheheyl is a broad-based, seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience in the computer and data communications industries. His career includes companies ranging in size from start-ups with no product or sales to multi-national corporations with over $6 billion in revenue.
Since retiring as Executive Vice President of Business Operations of Bay Networks, then a $2 billion data networking company formed through the merger of Wellfleet and Synoptics Communications, he has continued to be active as a private investor, board member, CEO mentor and new business start-up coach. He is also an occasional consultant in the areas of technology, M&A and corporate strategy. As a board member, he is an active director and available for in-depth counsel to management. He has served on the boards of five public companies, including several which became public during his tenure, as well as on the boards of private companies. As a consultant, he mentors CEOs and has also represented sellers in twenty completed merger transactions with a value of over $2 billion. From his prior work experience he brings the skills, knowledge and empathy of having been there himself. He does, however, manage to spend his winters on the ski slopes in Vail, Colorado.
Mr. Cheheyl was the financial officer responsible for the initial public offerings of three companies, follow-on offerings, numerous private financings and a series of mergers and acquisitions as both buyer and seller.Other experience includes several assignments as senior sales officer, as division general manager and as senior manufacturing executive. As a chief financial officer, he was honored by being named to Upside Magazine’s national annual All-Star Team of technology executives and received honorable mention for another annual team. He served as Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration at Wellfleet Communications guiding that company's growth from $10 million in revenue to $500 million in four years. That company was named as America’s fastest growing public company for two consecutive years by Fortune Magazine.
Mr. Cheheyl earned his undergraduate degree at Dartmouth College and his M.B.A. at Northwestern University.
Kevin Laracey and is an entrepreneur and investor in companies spanning a variety of industries. He was the founder and CEO of edocs, a multi-year Inc. 500 company and Deloitte & Touche fast 500 award winner before it was acquired by Siebel Systems, now part of Oracle Corporation. While at Siebel, Mr. Laracey was Vice President and General Manager of the Self Service Division. Mr. Laracey has been a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award and is a recipient of the New England Business and Technology Association's award recognizing exemplary leadership. He is also a Director of Solebury Products, a leading provider of high end gift products. Prior to edocs, Mr. Laracey held a variety of positions with The Travelers Companies and Elixir Technologies.
Mr. Laracey is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and received his M.B.A. from UCLA's Anderson Graduate School of Management.
Allyn C. Woodward, Jr.Advisor
Mr. Woodward was Vice Chairman of Adams Harkness Financial Group (AHFG -formerly Adams, Harkness & Hill) from April, 2001 until January, 2006 when AHFG was sold to Canaccord, Inc. He previously served as President from 1995–2001. AHFG was an independent institutional research, brokerage and investment banking firm headquartered in Boston MA.
Prior to joining AHH, Mr. Woodward worked for Silicon Valley Bank from April, 1990 to April 1995, initially as Executive Vice President and Co-founder of the Wellesley MA office and more recently as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the parent bank in California. Silicon Valley Bank is a commercial bank, headquartered in Santa Clara, CA, whose principal lending focus is directed toward the technology, healthcare and venture capital industries.
Prior to joining Silicon Valley Bank, Mr. Woodward was Senior Vice President and Group Manager of the Technology group at Bank of New England, Boston MA, where he was employed from 1963-1990.
Mr. Woodward is currently a Director, Chairman of the Compensation Committee and a member of the Audit Committee of Lecroy Corporation (NASDAQ:LCRY). Mr. Woodward is also a Director, Chairman of the Compensation Committee, Chairman of the Nominating and Governance Committee and a member of the Audit Committee and Valuation Committee of Hercules Technology Growth Capital, Inc (NASDAQ:HTGC). He is also a former Director of Viewlogic (NASDAQ:VIEW) and Cayenne Software, Inc (NASDAQ:CAYN).
Mr. Woodward serves on the Board of Directors of three private companies and is on the Board of Advisors of five venture capital firms. Mr. Woodward is on the Board of Overseers and a member of the Finance Committee of Newton Wellesley Hospital, a 250-bed hospital located in Newton MA. Mr. Woodward is on the Board of Overseers and the Investment Committee and the Finance Committee of Babson College in Babson Park MA.
Mr. Woodward graduated from Babson College with a degree in finance and accounting. He also graduated from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University.
