Independent Research Firm Highlights Virtusa In Midtier Provider Report

Westborough, MA - April 23, 2008 - Forrester Research, Inc., the leading independent technology and market research company, has highlighted Virtusa in a publication released April 14th, 2008.

The report titled, “Not the Usual Suspects Part II: Cost, Quality, and Client Service Benefits from Midtier Providers,” is authored by leading Forrester analyst Stephanie Moore, together with Christine Ferrusi Ross and Allison Thresher. It is published under a series of Forrester publications for Sourcing and Vendor Management Professionals.

Commenting on the publication, Virtusa CMO Marc Hebert says, “We are very pleased to receive such positive coverage in our first Forrester report. Increasingly IT outsourcing analysts tell us that Virtusa represents an attractive alternative to the large providers when clients need a highly-responsive, agile provider, particularly for specialized skills like our platforming, BPM, BI/DW, testing and partner-specific practices. This is the first of several reports we expect to be covered in this year.”

The report states: “Virtusa’s strong suit is more modern customer-facing front-office systems development and support…”

Other differentiators cited in the report include:

  • “A commitment to evolving rather than just maintaining systems under its care… Virtusa encourages its enterprise clients to think of these existing systems the same way a software vendor thinks of its products. Every cycle brings a new release or improved functionality - making them valuable and relevant that much longer.”
  • “Low ratio of on-site to offshore staff… Virtusa has one of the lowest, if not the lowest, ratio of on-site to offshore staff… Virtusa has also intentionally oriented its processes, client training, and staff to be effective in this model.”
  • “Focus on business analysts… Virtusa has invested more than most Indian providers on business analysts (BAs). This staff effectively bridges the gap between Virtusa and the client, as well as the gap between the on-site and offshore delivery teams.”
