was set up in 1985 to promote the special interests
of women entrepreneurs with the objective of incorporating
them into the mainstream of business activity
in Sri Lanka. WCIC Awards are presented once every
two years to women entrepreneurs in the large,
medium, small and micro business categories. This
year's awards have been expanded from five to
eight categories to offer opportunities to a wider
range of women entrepreneurs to include the Best
Innovative Enterprise, Best Business Start-up
and Tsunami Turnaround Woman Entrepreneur.
