The application of software platforming principles continues to create competitive advantage for our clients across industries, including communications, financial services, high technology and retail. In this issue of Virtusa Insight, we illustrate two excellent examples of high-value IT services executed with a global delivery model.
The first is a major IT project that we recently launched for a global foodservice retailer that is based on a core software platform supporting its restaurant data backbone. It is a powerful application of software platforming principles in a major enterprise, providing tremendous benefits including faster time-to-market.
The second is a new white paper on "The Business of Software Quality", which advances Virtusa's innovative software quality point of view, namely, that software testing is best executed itself as a software platform with its own life cycle embedded within an enterprise's application development life cycle.
We hope you will find some of these insights useful in your own enterprises.
Sincerely, Kris Canekeratne
Chairman and CEO

Cultural Corner - Vesak: Triple Buddhist Celebration
Vesak, celebrated on the day of the full moon in May is the most hallowed of Buddhist festivals as it commemorates three great events: the birth, enlightenment and passing away of Lord Buddha.
In primarily Buddhist countries such as Sri Lanka, two whole days are set aside for the celebration of Vesak and all liquor shops and slaughter houses are closed by government decree during the two days. Cattle are released by the thousands as a symbolic act of giving freedom to those who are in captivity.
